The Connection Between eExistence and Cognition from the Perspective of Sadra's Wisdom and Husserl's Phenomenology

Abstract

The subjects of philosophy can be divided into two main branches of issues: the inner reality of man and the external world. Each of the philosophers has selected one of these two types according to their personal preference. Although the relationship between existence and human cognition is one of the main issues in philosophical knowledge, few philosophers have been able to provide solutions to explain this problem. Mulla Sadra is known as the philosopher who considers existence to be original, and Edmund Husserl is known as the philosopher who based phenomenology on consciousness. Despite these differences, both philosophers, based on the role of the human field, have taken common steps to bring the two spheres closer together. The present article seeks to show the similarities between Sadr al-Muta'alleen and Husserl in terms of the connection between existence and cognition. This research tries to determine the role of the human field in the connection to existential levels and perceptual stages in the two combinations of transcendent wisdom and phenomenology. After defining and explaining the transcendent soul and transcendental ego with the method of comparison and adaptation, the role of the human field in explaining the issue has been addressed. The results obtained from the study of the ideas of these two philosophers clarifies that the human realm is not the home in which existence and cognition are compelled by necessity, but it acquires a perceptual level commensurate with the course of existence. The man has introduced cognition in himself and in this regard, he has achieved certain knowledge.
