An Examination of the Implications of the Term Isra for the Soft War Strategy Against Judaism

Abstract

Surah "Isra" is one of the surahs that talks about the final promise and the end of existence. This surah begins with the topic of the Prophet's (PBUH) movement from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa and talks about two wars between Muslims and the Bani- Israel. "Isra" is one of the rarely used and Meaning-maker words in this surah that needs to the etymology. etymology of this word can show a new interpretive topic. the present study, which is written in a qualitative manner, by the etymology of the word "Isra" shows new understanding of the verses of Surah "Isra" and the relationship between them. The findings of this study show that "Isra" can be analyzed in the context of the verses of Surah "Isra" as meaning "hidden" or "secret"; This interpretation is also consistent with other uses of the root “sari” in the Quran. Based on this meaning, a structural and content link is established between the Prophet’s (PBUH) Movement, the two wars Expressed, and the moral-social Contents in this chapter , all of this Contents can be interpreted with soft war. Accordingly, Surah Al-Isra can be considered as presenting the Quranic model of soft war.
